Certain jobs require specific skills. You can set these skills in Propeller and assign them to different works defined in SORs. When scheduling visits that have SORs attached, Propeller's reactive or automatic scheduling will match the works with an engineer with the required skills.

Managing Skills

To manage skills on Propeller, navigate to Settings > Company Settings > Engineer Skills.

You can export a list of the skills you have on Propeller by selecting the workbook icon.

Creating Skills

To create a skill, enter the skill name and an optional description. Select Add New to save.

Editing Skills

Select Edit on the skill you would like to update. You can change the details in the same format as creating a skill. Select Update to confirm changes.

Deleting Skills

Select Delete on the skill you want to remove. Confirm this by selecting Yes. If the deleted skill is assigned to an SOR it will be removed once the SOR Catalogue is updated. It will be automatically unassigned from any engineers it was related to.

Assigning Skills to Engineers

To assign a skill to an engineer, you can either select the engineer icon on the Engineer Skills page, or go to Settings > User Manager > Engineers > Manage Engineer Skills.

Select the skill you would like to assign. This will then bring up the available engineers for this skill, and any engineers already assigned. You can assign/unassign engineers to a skill by dragging and dropping them in the correct column.

You can also edit or delete skills from this page by selecting the respective icons (pen for edit, pin for delete). You will not be able to make changes to the skill if it's associated with an engineer or visit.
